Today, our group looked to personify the letter W. We were faced with the decision between using W and Z, as our group was split in terms of last initials. We initially made the decision to use W with a theme of whimsy, but we soon strayed from that path as we drew independently.
When drawing, I started to look for nouns and adjectives that begin with our letter, and attempted to create a design that incorporates each word. As you can see in the first image below, some had more potential. When we reconvened, we went over our different ideas and our discussion spontaneously gave rise to thinking about animals that start with W, and a Google Image search for walruses immediately sealed the deal for us, as their noses are nearly the letter themselves.
Although the font that we chose originally was meant to fit the theme of whimsy, it was perfect for the walrus, especially with the curly whisker incorporated.
